Car Seat Suggestions

Well, I've been doing some serious car seat research.... and I NEED SOME HELP!!! Caden is definitely grown out of his little baby car seat, and we're in need of a new convertible one. I've read lots of reviews and from what I can tell Britax is a pretty good brand to go with... but i don't know! Can anyone with experience help me out??!!?? I need a seat that will face backward and frontward, holds at least 21 lbs, ** is easy to clean**, and is SAFE!!! If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to get them!!! THANKS

Loving Spring

It seems spring might possibly be here to stay! Since the first snow this last fall I've been looking forward to spring. I definitely haven't wished the time away.. just the weather. I enjoy snow for December and January, but I get tired of spending so much time indoors. I think living in a place with all four seasons, the HOT summers and very COLD winters.. has made me grateful for the changes in the weather. The last time we were able to take Caden outside he was about 4 months old. Now he's grown so much! Crawling like crazy, walking along anything that will hold his weight and constantly making Me and Taylor Laugh. He is officially 9 months old as of yesterday!! Happy 9 month b-day baby!!! He is such a joy in our lives. It's crazy to think we've had him here, a part of our lives, almost as long as i was pregnant with him (since i was a week late). I definitely miss the little baby stage, but as time has passed he has become so much fun to play with and watch.

Here's a little about our boy:
He is such a little daddy's boy.. when Taylor gets home from work Caden crawls as fast as he can to get to his feet. And watch out.... if Daddy doesn't pick him up to play... he gets those big crocodile tears rollin down his cheeks. He loves to wrestle with Taylor, they'll roll across the floor totally entertaining each other. Caden has learned to wave, and says bubu (bye bye) when someone is leaving. When you give him a hug and say "huuuuuuuuuuuuugs" he says "uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" (its so sweet)! He is finally getting the concept of chase, we'll growl at him and he'll squeal and crawl away as fast as he can. When he is trying to get someone's attention and they finally look at him he'll smile, scrunch his nose and squint his eyes.. haha, i can't help but laugh when he does it, cause it's so random. He is getting so big!

We have definitely enjoyed the warm weather lately. Caden stands at the glass doors waiting for someone to take him outside.. he loves it out there. He still isn't quite sure about the grass though, he'll stand on all fours and crawl that way instead of letting his knees touch the grass. He must not like the feeling. We've enjoyed going on a few walks and sitting out in the sun. Life is so good, we're so grateful for our many blessings!

Little Chocoholic

There's always funny new experiences to look forward to with babies.. and for us, it seems they always happen when he's being very very quiet. A couple of nights ago taylor and I were sitting on the couch watching a tv show while Caden was playing quietly at our feet (quiet isn't always good). I bent over to see how he was doing and i saw a little chocolate covered face smiling up at me!!

Of course he had gotten into our Easter stash. He had found a little foil wrapped chocolate Easter egg and had eaten it, melted it, and gotten it all over himself! It looked like an awfully large amount of chocolate for such a little egg. Here's some of the pictures from Caden's first Chocolate experience!

Our little Chocolate monster!!!

Here's a shot of his pants and the little Easter egg that made the mess.

Chocolate face!

Sink bath! All clean!

... And here's the best part of the story. After he was all cleaned off and had his pajamas on we went back out to finish our show. There was a package of Oreos on the table and Caden quietly reached in the package and grabbed a cookie! Luckily I noticed this one sooner on than the chocolate egg. Lol, he did get a pretty big bite out of it before i grabbed it from him.. a little chocolate never hurt anyone right?

It was definitely one of the funniest experiences I've had with Caden. He was so hyper, bouncing up and down and flapping his arms, it must have been from the sugar rush. I just laughed. Babies are so much fun.

A Beautiful Spring Morning in Utah

I will admit, its beautiful. It seems spring here is like a yo-yo, warm and cold... and cold, and hot, and cold, and hopefully warm again. We got at least a good foot of snow last night but its warming up nicely and a lot of it has already melted. Its supposed to rain today and tomorrow and its supposed to be sunny on Saturday and Sunday and get up to 67 degrees! Who knows, it'll probably snow again next week or somthing ;). Anyone else ready for a real spring?

Happy Easter

I have always loved easter! Usually its just warming up outside and spring is well on its way.. don't let these pictures fool you, its actually kind of chilly outside! Caden has loved being outside on the handful of days it's been warm. I can't wait for summer when we can play outside all the time! The Easter Bunny brought Caden a little stuffed ducky with a funny patch of hair on top of its head (kind of like cadens), a container of Cheerios, and a few plastic eggs.

Caden loves the plastic easter eggs!

This little boy has brought so much joy to my life.. he's full of smiles and energy.

Just thought I'd share these cute shots I got of him yesterday! We hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter! We are so grateful for the many blessings we have and the true meaning of Easter!

Pictures To Go With The Not So Little Update

Caden's discovery of the CHEERIO!!! He loves eating them and playing with his container!

This picture is precious! Taylor fell asleep on the floor during the 2nd conference session on Sunday and Caden laid next to him with his bottle, played with Taylors ear and watched conference! What a sweetie (he absolutely loves his daddy)!

My eyes all healed from the eyeliner procedure. it looks just like regular liner... only i never have to put it on!

Caden was very intrigued with the sewing machine.. i made sure to turn the needle down into the machine so he wouldn't prick his finger!

He LOVED pulling the thread!

The new baby blanket for the crib (it has incredibly soft minky on the back!!)

I've had the fabric for this blanket since i was a senior in high school, i just never got around to making it.. until today!

This is how the corners look on both blankets!

Little Update

It seems like life just keeps getting more crazy!! The weather has been pretty nice the last couple of days, and i thought FINALLY maybe spring is here! BUT it should have been no surprise to me that there was snow on the ground when i woke up this morning.. gotta love Utah! Taylor just got back from a business trip to Vegas last thursday, he had lots of fun and came home with lots of SWAG (aka: junk). Its been funny to watch him pull things out of the bags he got and try to give it to me as gifts, lol, i just put it back in the bags and he never notices. We really need to go through the stuff and throw probably 95% of it away! Last Friday I had a permanent eyeliner procedure done. It was quite a pleasant experience (seriously)! I was expecting it to be worse than labor! It turned out i didn't feel a thing while she was doing it. It was wonderful! Of course the two days following were pretty miserable for my eyes, i was swollen and kind of scary looking, but now that its all healed it looks FANTASTIC! Of course, it isn't really "permanent", it will last 2-3 years if i don't have it touched up.. but i am really loving it so i might just have it touched up every eighteen months to make sure it lasts longer! Caden has been workin hard on getting two more teeth through, and as of yesterday he officially has two teeth on top (barely through the gums)! He has figured how to get basically anywhere he wants, and he LOVES to make messes. What else should i expect form a baby....! Surprisingly, he is really coordinated when it comes to playing with a ball! We'll roll it back and forth with him and he will push it or throw it back! It doesn't matter if its a Soccer ball or easter egg, as long as it'll roll he will play catch with it! For the last two weeks he has also started sleeping through the night, which for him is 9:00 pm- 8:00 am! 9 is late for some babies to go to bed, but it definitely works best for us! If i'm out, I rarely have to worry about getting home in time for him to go to bed since his bedtime is a little later! I've been working on some really fun projects lately, my mom helped me finish a new baby quilt for Caden's crib yesterday! She is really good at figuring sewing stuff out! I made a self binding blanket... and boy it's cute! I'm working on some pillow shams to match it right now. I've also been working on a new feather comforter cover for our bed (that is in storage right now). When we get our own place, i'll be able to decorate it all cute! We are very excited for Easter! I got Caden a very little easter basket for his first easter! I was getting some stuff to fill it and realized i probably couldn't even fit more than three thing in it! Its so fun to have a baby to spoil on the holidays! Caden makes life so enjoyable!
