Las Palmillas . Cabo San Lucas . Mexico

- extreme picture overload -

I finally had some time to get to these pictures, life had been hectic. We were in cabo 1 month ago, crazy.. it seems like we just barely got back from the trip! We flew to Cabo San Lucas Mexico and spent the week in a gorgeous house by the beach with the Van Leeuwen family. It was perfect weather, perfect humidity (not enough to make my hair frizz up). We had a great time and I would love to go back someday! It was an amazing destination vacation!

{the city}

We spent a few hours in the city one of the afternoons. I would say it was pretty typical for a Mexican tourist city. We walked by the boat harbor, talk about amazing! The boats were gorgeous and the harbor was in such a neat location. The streets were littered with shops and bars. We saw lots of little outdoor restaurants. One called the Taco-Loco had "smothes"on their menu??? If anyone knows what that is... we would all love to know!

{the beach}

Ah... the beach. This place couldn't have been more beautiful. The sky was so blue, the water was so clear and blue. I fell in love with the palm trees they had.. they weren't normal ugly palm trees.. they were gorgeous! We spent one afternoon on the beach. The water was nice, a little cold, but it felt good with the hot sun. We were surrounded by giant pelicans and seagulls trying to eat the scraps from local fisherman. This was Cadens first experience with the beach and the sand. He wasn't too happy about the sand sticking between his toes, but this is coming from a boy who picks the lint from his toes several times a day. He cried until we showed him that the water would wash all the sand off his feet. After that he either wanted to stay by the water or on a towel. He enjoyed some time digging with his shovel and bucket... aaaand...... Taylor did too ;)

{the pool}

We had a heated pool in the backyard of the house we stayed in. It was fantastic, we were able to swim when we woke up till the sun set and we never got cold. Our view was spectacular! I think we all spent the majority of our time in the pool or in the sun. We played lots of games and swam with the little boys. Caden's older cousin Britton is a fish.. I swear. He jumped right in the pool with no fear and swam by himself for hours! I hope Caden will be able to pick up some mad skills like that ;) Caden was so tired one afternoon and as soon as Bret got him to relax in the water he was out! I think he slept in the water for 15 min or so.. man, Poppy works magic! I love swimming, I wish it were warm enough in Utah to be able to swim year round outdoors.

{the house}

We had several early mornings with the boys, Caden got sick and didn't sleep very well for a couple of nights. Waking up early wasn't necessarily fun, but I was grateful to see the sun rise for several mornings.. It was absolutely gorgeous. We went on lots of walks. Found tons of bugs. We cooked out on the grill. Watched the first season of Glee, which I'm obsessed with now.. the new season starts tonight!!! We played games. Played with the boys. Made lots of yummy food. Watched the movie Cars.. probably 8 or 9 times ;) It was so much fun.

{the plane}

This was Cadens first time on a plane. I hadn't been on a plane since I was 8. So it was a fun experience for both of us. Caden was pretty good, The trip down He played with Poppy, turned the lights on and off a million times, open and closed the window cover, put his fingers in the air vent, read books, played with toys and ate lots and lots of biscoff cookies. It was only a 2 1/2 hour flight so it went by quickly. He slept for the first hour on the way back home and played quietly for the rest of the flight. Before going on the plane he had no clue what an airplane was, but now he points them out in the sky and in books like a pro.

It was the trip of a lifetime! Hopefully all these pictures will make Caden laugh when he looks back on his first vacation!
