the zoo

Spring. To be... or not to be? That is the question.

I hope the nice weather is here to stay.. but in Utah it's never predictable. We finally pulled a nice weekend out of the forecast and it has been heaven.

Yesterday we decided to take a break from working on the house and spend the afternoon at Hogle Zoo. It was sunny and in the 60's {perfect zoo temperature}. Caden was so excited to go see the all the animals, mostly the "braz" {zebras}. All morning he ran around screaming "BRAZ! BRAZ! OOOOZ!". Any word that starts with z, sh, or makes the sh sound is said kind of backwards {shoe = oosh, shell = elsh, sheep = eepsh, zebra = braz, zoo = ooz.. etc.} He has recently been obsessed with Madagascar 2 {my fault} so he knows all the zoo animals by heart and was really excited to go see them.

There were so many people at the zoo, I don't think I've ever seen so many people there. It's spring break for most of Utah this week and the nice weather made for a perfect trip to the zoo.. for EVERYONE! It was so much fun. We saw 4 tigers walking around their cage, a new baby elephant, monkeys, cougars, alligators, giraffes, and enormous turtles. We rode on the little red train, played at the playground, fed some birds, ate lunch and got some sun! Caden was so excited about every animal we saw. He would run up and grab on of my siblings hand and drag them as close as he could to show them the animals. He is finally at the age where the zoo makes sense. We will definitely be getting a season pass this year!
