Pumpkin Patch

Taylor found this cute little pumpkin patch near our house. He is so cute, always wanting to start new traditions. I love that about him :D

Caden has been dying to get a baby Bunkin. Our Neighbors had 3 pumpkins sitting by their door for a couple weeks before Halloween. Every time we would leave the house he would bend down and count "1, 2, 3 Bunkin!" and take their little boy's baby pumpkin and put it by our door. Haha. No Caden, put it back. We'll get you a baby pumpkin soon. He was so excited when we went to the pumpkin patch and he got to pick out his very own baby pumpkin. They even had cute wagons to pull the pumpkins in. It was really so fun. The guy thought Caden was so cute that he gave us his baby pumpkin for free. It took his little hands freezing to put the wagon back and get in the car.

Happy Halloween!

I'm dreaming of....

In the words of Taylor:
"I'm dreaming of a white.... Halloween?!?"

Well no actually. I prefer my October without snow. But yes Utah.. I still love you. Even if you decide to snow in my favorite month of the year. We'll just keep hoping that this weekend comes with no snow and lots of fun. There was, however, a certain little boy who was pretty excited about the snow.

As for my life lately:

October? Gone... Almost? Seriously? I'm sad that my favorite month of the year is almost to an end. This month has flown by. I've been so busy with pictures and editing. I am ready for a break! I'm 2 days shy of finishing my cleanse! I am really so proud of myself, I can't believe I am almost done. It wasn't nearly as difficult as I was anticipating.. And the results have been well worth it. I feel great and I've lost more than all the weight I was hoping for! Saturday I AM going to eat a bread twist and ranch dressing from pizza factory... Anyone want to join me? I am so excited for Halloween next week, I am planning on making pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, mummy oreos, beef pastries, creamy tomato basil soup, alfredo sub melts... Oh I can't wait. Pumpkin carving. Haunted houses. Halloween. I need to get my house clean and do possibly 5 loads of laundry!? Then we can get to all the festivities!

I Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful month of October!

little poser

I don't know if it's the the magic age of 26 months or what? But my little man went from difficult to get a picture of to... amazing little poser! With no bribes or incentive he sat so still and posed for every picture I wanted to take! What happened?! I don't really care, I'm just so excited to finally have a cooperative little model!

I have been working on getting a wall collage put together for our family room. For some reason I have put the most lived in room off, to be decorated last? It has always seemed like such an overwhelming task. I'm glad I waited so long because my ideas for the room have changed over and over, and now I have a pretty good idea of what I want! It will be hard to go through and choose which of these pictures I want for the wall. He looks so stinkin' cute in all of them! Taylor was so nice to take a few pictures of me to add to the collage. Now I just have to wait for his hair to grow a little so I can take pictures of him! Then print and frame!

Oh help me out, which ones do you like best? I'll never be able to decide!

Fall Wreath Tutorial

Hello Fall! There is no better way to bring that incredible fall air into your home than a little decorating {and possibly some chocolate chip pumpkin cookies ;)} This is by far my favorite season of the year and I always get excited to do fun fall activities!

wreath tutorial

I spotted an adorable corn husk wreath in a home decor store a few weeks back. I took a good look at how it was put together and decided it would be more than easy to make! I headed to the dollar store and wal-mart to pick up the supplies and my grand total came to $7.00!

Here's the supplies you'll need:

 - 1 green foam wreath (dollar store)
- 1 pkg of short sewing pins
- 1 8 oz pkg of corn husk (walmart, with the Mexican food)
- 1 brown ink pad - optional

wreath tutorial

First off separate the corn husks cause they'll all be stuck together. Then soak them in a sink full of water until they're pliable, around 5-10 min. While they are still damp tear them into 1-2 in pieces. Let them dry for a few minutes. Beginning on the outside pin the wider ends of the pieces to the foam wreath. I stacked 3-4 strips on top of each other then pinned. The more you stack the fuller it will be. On some you may need to use 2 pins to keep them in place. You could use hot glue, but pins are more forgiving and I like forgiving! Work your way around the wreath pinning each row closer to the center. Wrap the last row into the center and pin down the wider ends well so they don't show through the center of the wreath. Now hang it up and make sure you haven't missed anything. Then take the ink pad and stain the tips and edges of the husk pieces. You can skip the last step, I just thought the ink added a little more character. Hang it up and let it dry! That's it! easy.
