Easter Sunday

My grandma and grandpa Lambson always throw a really funEaster egg hunt. I really love going to spend time at their house, I have so many good memories there. This year we celebrated Aunt Janeen's birthday on Easter Sunday. We had a huge Easter egg hunt in the orchard behind the house and Caden had his own personal "easy" Easter egg hunt in the front yard ;) It was a beautiful day, it was warm and perfect weather. The whole winter was so mild and we finally had a spring this year! We had yummy cake and ice cream as the sun set. The sunsets are always so beautiful over antelope island. I love looking out over the valley from their back yard. It is crazy looking back at these pictures and seeing how little Brynnley seemed just 3 months ago. I sure try to soak up her littleness every day. She is so precious. Caden and Brynn always have a great time with my siblings and cousins. Caden was especially excited to spend time with his favorite "girlfriend" Mikayla. I asked him why he calls her his girlfriend and he told me "because she is the nicest cousin friend girl". She is so good with him and always plays with him. We sure love her. It was a really fun afternoon spent enjoying good food and good company.

Easter weekend | Easter brunch party

I love living so close to family. It is so fun to have so many aunts and uncles, grandparents and cousins who live nearby. My dad comes from a very big family, 9 kids! Grandma is a saint. There are 8 boys and 1 girl in the family. That means I have 9 aunts and 9 uncles and a whole lot of cousins. I think right now the family consists of (including my family) -- 32 grandchildren, 7 (almost 8) spouses to grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren (+ 2 on the way!) -- and would you believe I know all of them ;) That probably only comes from being among the older grandchildren. We had a big Easter brunch on Saturday before Easter. I have to say.. I think pot lucks should always be brunch food. It was the best party food I've ever had! Crepes with nutella and fruit, breakfast casserole, orange rolls, cinnamon rolls, blueberry muffins, fruit, eggs, orange juice, and lots of Easter goodies. We love going to Todd and Cindy's house, they have always been great hosts. Lane and I used to spend almost every weekend at their house. Thanks to our great relationships up there that is how I was introduced to Taylor. I will be forever grateful. They set up a little Easter egg hunt up in the backyard for the kids. Brynnley if over her fear of grass now that I've forced her to love it ;) We let her find some easy eggs around the swing set. She loves those plastic eggs, she could play with them for hours. Caden ran around on his own finding quite a few eggs. We spent the rest of the early afternoon playing with all the fun toys in their backyard and watching a few games of 500. It was a beautiful sunny day. My two youngest cousins were there, one of which I hadn't met yet! He was born a couple months after Brynnley, crazy, my youngest cousin is younger than my second child! I love it. All of my baby cousins are so darling. Brynnley and Jude had fun touching each others faces and stealing plastic eggs from each other. We had a great time! Thanks for the fun party Cindy!

Look at that evil eye. She is a stinker ;)

Last week the weather was probably the best we've seen this year. Not that I'm complaining! This has been the best winter I've ever seen in Utah -- no snow! We went over to the park by Mimi's house after I picked Caden up from preschool last week. We had pizza and french fries and grilled cheese. My child, he is so strange. He hates 3 foods that I would consider a staple for most toddlers: pizza, peanut butter and ice cream! Who hates those foods? Come on! So he got the fries and grilled cheese instead while the rest of us ate pizza. I have been seriously crushing on his new sunglasses. We went up to city creek center a few weeks ago and I caved when I saw these. He did need a new pair of sunglasses. His eyes are so sensitive to the light. The doctor told me it is because he is so fair, blonde and blue eyed. I guess some kids with that description have issues with their pupils being extra large. I had never noticed it before, but seriously, when we are out on a bright day his pupils don't shrink like they should! Poor kid, I've been looking for a pair of glasses that have more of an amber tone because they are so much nicer to look through than the black. I found these and they were the perfect amber/rose tone. My personal favorite! Plus they're killer cute on him. What a stud. It was a really nice day, a little overcast and definitely not "typical march" temperature. We even got some sun. I am pretty confident in saying that Brynn did not get my skin. She was perfectly bronzed the next day with a stripe across her head from the headband she was wearing! Thank goodness, and lucky her. I am always so grateful when I bring my camera along. I love having pictures of my kids, and all the adorable things they do. They are so funny and sweet. I am so grateful that I can capture them in the moment and freeze them forever. They are my greatest blessings. Brynnley was being such a goober while we were there. She is so serious when we are around friends and family. It kills me. She will hold a perfectly straight face and people think she is just so somber. When we are at home she is a total goof. She pulls crazy faces that make me and Caden roll with laughter. So far uncle Lane is the only one who has really scored, getting her to pull crazy faces for him. I caught some of her scrunched nose, evil eyes and goofy smiles at the park. They are just classic faces. She is obsessed with waving at people lately. I was trying to get some pictures of her headband for my HowDoesShe post, and she just kept waving and gasping at all the kids that would ride by on bikes and scooters. Goober, seriously.. she is such a goob.
